RESOLUTION
Commending
Dixon Grove Baptist Church; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Dixon Grove Baptist Church was founded originally in 1956 by Reverend John
Arthur Dixon; and
WHEREAS,
the seeds which were sown by the loving and humble efforts of those devout
worshipers have blossomed into a landmark institution under the guiding hands
and heart of its current shepherd, Pastor James Edward Harris who answered the
call to service and leadership in 1979; and
WHEREAS,
the congregation of this church has compiled an unparalleled record of
constructive, compassionate, and humanitarian service which it demonstrates
daily through open minds, open hearts, and open doors; and
WHEREAS,
the unmatched spiritual assistance offered by this church as it continues to
grow and lead people worldwide to experience the fullness of their ordained
destiny in Christ Jesus is a source of strength, inspiration, and direction for
persons of all walks of life and from all economic strata; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that this enduring example of God´s
message of peace and love be recognized for its innumerable good works rendered
on behalf of persons in need.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Dixon Grove Baptist Church for the many, many decades of steadfast, unselfish,
and loving service to the people of this state and extend to the congregation
their best wishes for continued growth and service to the
community.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Pastor James Edward
Harris.
