A RESOLUTION


Honoring the life of and expressing regret at the tragic passing of Lauren A. Burk; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the State of Georgia lost one of its finest young citizens with the passing of Auburn University freshman Lauren A. Burk; and

WHEREAS, this extraordinary young woman graduated in 2007 from Walton High School in Marietta, Georgia, and was a member of Delta Gamma sorority and played lacrosse; and

WHEREAS, she is remembered as being a very good student, having many friends, and always smiling, laughing, and happy; and

WHEREAS, this singular young woman was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and

WHEREAS, it is only fitting and proper that we join together to express to her family and friends our most sincere, heartfelt condolences for their loss.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body express their deepest and most sincere regret at the passing of Lauren A. Burk to her family and friends.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Lauren A. Burk.
