RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Michael Armstrong; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Armstrong is a proud graduate of the United States Military Academy at West
Point, New York; and
WHEREAS,
in his career as a school teacher, he has served as a kind mentor to the
children of the Muscogee County School System; and
WHEREAS,
he is a licensed and ordained minister who has served for over eight years with
the Christian Fellowship Church in Columbus, Georgia, taking on special
responsibilities with the choir and the church's street and prison ministries;
and
WHEREAS,
despite his appointment as assistant principal of Cusseta Road Elementary
School, his work with the youth of his church, and his work towards his
doctorate, Mr. Armstrong gives to his community whenever he can, working with
civic organizations such as the South Columbus Concerned Citizens;
and
WHEREAS,
Michael Armstrong has provided fantastic community leadership to the City of
Columbus through his cultivated wisdom, bold determination, and unwavering
faith, and is a model citizen of Georgia.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join
together to commend Michael Armstrong for his abundant contributions to the
community and his conscientious care for the youth of Columbus and extend to him
the best of wishes in all of his endeavors.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Michael Armstrong.
