To
amend Title 21 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to elections,
so as to correct typographical, stylistic, and other errors and omissions in
Title 21 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated and in Acts of the General
Assembly amending Title 21 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated; to correct
capitalization and spelling in Title 21 of the Official Code of Georgia
Annotated; to provide for necessary or appropriate revisions and modernizations
of matters contained in Title 21 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated; to
provide for other matters relating to Title 21 of the Official Code of Georgia
Annotated; to provide an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for
other purposes.

IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Title
21 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to elections, is amended
in:
(1) Code Section 21-2-40, relating to the authorization of the General Assembly to create board of elections and board of elections and registration in any county, by replacing "absentee balloting procedures." with "absentee-balloting procedures." in subsection (b).
(2) Code Section 21-2-379.1, relating to requirements for use of electronic recording voting systems, by replacing "direct electronic recording voting system" with "direct recording electronic voting system" in the introductory language.
(3) Code Section 21-2-379.2, relating to the review of manufacturer´s electronic recording voting system by the Secretary of State, appointment and compensation of examiners, revocation of approval, written verification and certification prior to election or primary, penalties, and conflicts of interest, by replacing "direct electronic recording voting system" with "direct recording electronic voting system" in subsections (a), (b), (c), (f), and (g) and by replacing "direct electronic voting system" with "direct recording electronic voting system" in subsection (e).
(4) Code Section 21-2-384, relating to absentee voting and preparation and delivery of supplies, mailing of ballots, oath of absentee electors and persons assisting absentee electors, master list of ballots sent, and challenges is amended by replacing "This, the ____________ day of ________ ________." with "This, the ____________ day of ________, ________." in the form in paragraph (1) of subsection (c).
(5) Code Section 21-2-386, relating to absentee voting and safekeeping, certification, and validation of absentee ballots, rejection of ballot, delivery of ballots to manager, duties of managers, precinct returns, and notification of challenged elector, by replacing "absentee ballots clerks" with "absentee ballot clerks" in paragraph (2) of subsection (a).
(6) Code Section 21-2-522, relating to grounds for contesting elections and primaries, by inserting "or" at the end of paragraph (4).
(7) Code Section 21-5-30.2, relating to campaign contributions by public agencies, by replacing "in accordance with Chapter 2 or 3" with "in accordance with Chapter 2" in paragraph (3) of subsection (a).
(8) Code Section 21-5-70, relating to definitions regarding public officials conduct and lobbyist disclosure, by replacing "vendor" with "vender" in subparagraph (G) of paragraph (5).

SECTION
2.
This
Act shall become effective upon its approval by the Governor or upon its
becoming law without such approval.
SECTION
3.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
