RESOLUTION
Commending
the Armuchee Middle School Student Council; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the importance of contributing time and resources to people less fortunate than
yourself is a priceless lesson; and
WHEREAS,
the Armuchee Middle School Student Council has not only learned the lesson of
giving, but has taught others through its actions; and
WHEREAS,
the Armuchee Middle School Student Council has helped many in need through
participating in projects such as the United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots
program, donating 284 toys for local families; and
WHEREAS,
in the wake of the Hurricane Katrina disaster, the Armuchee Middle School
Student Council raised $1,000.00 and donated the money to St. Marten Upper
Elementary School in Vancleave, Mississippi; and
WHEREAS,
in a time that the selfless and philanthropic acts of our society´s youth
are not sufficiently highlighted, the Armuchee Middle School Student Council is
a shining example of what kids can give back.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend the selfless actions of the Armuchee Middle School Student
Council.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Armuchee
Middle School Student Council.
