RESOLUTION
Commending
the Clayton County 2006-2007 STAR student, Larry Armstead, and STAR teacher,
Holly Carver; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Clayton County high schools have selected the Clayton County 2006-2007 STAR
(Student Teacher Achievement Recognition) students, and each student, in turn,
has named his or her STAR teacher in recognition of the impact that teacher has
had on the student's academic success; and
WHEREAS,
for their outstanding accomplishments, Riverdale High School has recognized
Larry Armstead as its 2006-2007 STAR student and Holly Carver as the 2006-2007
STAR teacher; and
WHEREAS,
to be selected as the STAR student for a high school, a student must have
obtained the highest score in one administration of the new three-part
Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) taken through the November test date of his or
her senior year and be in the top 10 percent or top ten students of his or her
class; and
WHEREAS,
it is fitting and proper to recognize appropriately the accomplishments and
achievements of this remarkable student and teacher.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend the Clayton County 2006-2007 STAR student, Larry Armstead, and
STAR teacher, Holly Carver, and express to them their sincerest best wishes for
continued success in the future.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Clayton
County Board of Education.
