RESOLUTION
Commending
Mr. Lamar Turner; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Lamar Turner is widely recognized as the personification of excellence in
education for his teaching abilities; and
WHEREAS,
this highly respected teacher in the Chattooga County school system has served
with honor and distinction as a professional educator and currently teaches
physical education at Leroy Massey Elementary School in Summerville, Georgia;
and
WHEREAS,
he has fulfilled his role as a teacher, serving as an instrument of inspiration
and enthusiasm to his pupils and creating a positive and encouraging learning
environment; and
WHEREAS,
in recognition of his outstanding dedication to academic excellence, he was
selected as the 2007 Chattooga County Schools Teacher of the Year;
and
WHEREAS,
he is a shining example of the important impact that the efforts of individual
classroom teachers make on the quality of education received by the children of
this state, and it is abundantly fitting and proper that his superlative
accomplishments be recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body heartily and gratefully commend Mr. Lamar Turner for his sacrifice,
foresight, accomplishment, and contributions on behalf of education in Georgia
and for the positive influence he has had upon the lives and futures of so many
young people in this state and congratulate him upon his selection as the 2007
Chattooga County Schools Teacher of the Year.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Lamar
Turner.
