RESOLUTION
Honoring
Georgian families; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the traditional family is the centerpiece of our society, and strong families
make for a strong Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
healthy marriages and strong families are essential to human well-being and the
common good; and
WHEREAS,
the mission of the Georgia Family Council is to strengthen and encourage
families by influencing public opinion, shaping laws, and equipping leaders; and
WHEREAS,
the Georgia Family Council works to educate the public and to provide elected
officials with relevant and appropriate information regarding current issues;
and
WHEREAS,
the Georgia Family Council promotes policies that contribute to healthier,
self-sustaining families; and
WHEREAS,
the Georgia Family Council works in tandem with like-minded leaders in
government agencies, the legislature, the courts, and in communities in Georgia
and around the nation to foster healthy family relationships; and
WHEREAS,
the Georgia Family Council deserves commendation for its work on behalf of the
people of Georgia.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in honoring the valuable work of the Georgia Family
Council.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Randy
Hicks, President of the Georgia Family Council.
