RESOLUTION
Commending
Dr. Alan Perry; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Dr. Alan Perry is widely recognized as the personification of excellence in
education for his teaching abilities; and
WHEREAS,
Dr. Perry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in English Education and Business
Education from Tennessee Wesleyan College, a Master of Arts degree in English
from East Tennessee State University, and a doctorate in School Improvement from
the University of West Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
this highly respected teacher in the Chattooga County school system has served
with honor and distinction as a professional educator for 28 years and currently
teaches english and journalism at Chattooga High School in Summerville, Georgia;
and
WHEREAS,
Dr. Perry has fulfilled his role as a teacher, serving as an instrument of
inspiration and enthusiasm to his pupils and creating a positive and encouraging
learning environment; and
WHEREAS,
in recognition of his outstanding dedication to academic excellence, he was
selected by Chattooga High School's 2007 STAR Student, Sharon Melody Weaver, as
the 2007 STAR Teacher for Chattooga High School; and
WHEREAS,
Dr. Perry is a shining example of the important impact that the efforts of
individual classroom teachers make on the quality of education received by the
children of this state, and it is abundantly fitting and proper that his
superlative accomplishments be recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body heartily and gratefully commend Dr. Alan Perry for his sacrifice,
foresight, accomplishment, and contributions on behalf of education in Georgia
and for the positive influence he has had upon the lives and futures of so many
young people in this state and congratulate him upon his selection as the
Chattooga High School 2007 STAR Teacher.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Dr. Alan
Perry.
