RESOLUTION
Commending
Mr. William Doughtry; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. William Doughtry is widely recognized as the personification of excellence
in education for his teaching abilities; and
WHEREAS,
this highly respected teacher in the Floyd County school system has served with
honor and distinction as a professional educator and currently teaches biology,
chemistry, and anatomy as well as heading the academic decathlon team at Coosa
High School in Rome, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
he has fulfilled his role as a teacher, serving as an instrument of inspiration
and enthusiasm to his pupils and creating a positive and encouraging learning
environment; and
WHEREAS,
in recognition of his outstanding dedication to academic excellence, he was
selected by Coosa High School´s 2007 STAR Student, Eric Lewis Angel, as the
2007 STAR Teacher for Coosa High School; and
WHEREAS,
he is a shining example of the important impact that the efforts of individual
classroom teachers make on the quality of education received by the children of
this state, and it is abundantly fitting and proper that his superlative
accomplishments be recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body heartily and gratefully commend Mr. William Doughtry for his
sacrifice, foresight, accomplishment, and contributions on behalf of education
in Georgia and for the positive influence he has had upon the lives and futures
of so many young people in this state and congratulate him upon his selection as
the Coosa High School 2007 STAR Teacher.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. William
Doughtry.
