A RESOLUTION


Honoring and remembering the life of Pamela Aquica Orange; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the State of Georgia has lost one of its most distinguished citizens with the passing of Pamela Aquica Orange on March 11, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Pamela, a.k.a "The Diva," was born on September 27, 1980, the youngest daughter of Civil Rights veterans James and Cleophas Orange; and

WHEREAS, she was born into a family rich in history, spirituality, style, and most importantly, love; and

WHEREAS, she attended Atlanta Public Schools, and upon graduating from D.M. Therrell High School, she went on to continue her education at Atlanta Technical College; and

WHEREAS, she was an amazing executive assistant for the M.L.K., Jr. Africa/African American Renaissance March Committee for which she received a medallion in 2007; and

WHEREAS, her devotion to her community and the world around her was evident through her involvement in SCLC/Women´s Organizational Movement for Equality Now, Inc., and the Youth Witness Evangelism for Christ at St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church; and

WHEREAS, her love of life and vitality left an unforgettable impression on everyone she met; and

WHEREAS, the passing of this vibrant young woman leaves an unfillable void in the hearts and lives of her family and friends.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body join together to express their deepest regret at the passing of Pamela Aquica Orange and extend their most sincere condolences to her family.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Pamela Aquica Orange.
