RESOLUTION
Commending
Jacob Travis; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Jacob Travis is widely recognized throughout this state as the personification
of excellence in education; and
WHEREAS,
this highly respected professional educator has served with honor and
distinction as a teacher of fiction, poetry, and grammar for the past five years
at Buford Middle School; and
WHEREAS,
he believes that his continuing role as a teacher is to act as an instrument of
inspiration and enthusiasm to his pupils and to create a positive learning
environment by connecting with his students; and
WHEREAS,
in recognition of his outstanding achievements, he has been named 2006-2007
Teacher of the Year of the City of Buford independent school system;
and
WHEREAS,
he is a shining example of the important impact that the efforts of individual
education professionals are making on the quality of education received by the
children of this state, and it is abundantly fitting and proper that his
superlative accomplishments be recognized appropriately.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body heartily and gratefully commend Jacob Travis for his many years of
sacrifice, foresight, accomplishment, and contributions on behalf of education
in Georgia and for the positive influence he has had upon the lives and futures
of countless young people in this state and extend to him their most sincere
best wishes for health and happiness in the future.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Jacob Travis.
