RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending the HoneyBaked Ham Company for 50 years of serving the highest
quality products; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the HoneyBaked Ham Company was started in 1957, when Harry J. Hoenselaar
leveraged a second mortgage on his home, and with only $500.00, opened the very
first HoneyBaked Ham Company store; and
WHEREAS,
since then, the company has expanded to 115 corporate-owned HoneyBaked Ham
Company stores and more than 100 franchised HoneyBaked stores, plus mail order
and online sales; and
WHEREAS,
the Georgia-based division of this company employs more than 2,000 associates,
helping to boost this state´s economy; and
WHEREAS,
the HoneyBaked Ham Company has earned a stellar reputation for the highest
quality products that have become family traditions and the centerpiece of
holiday celebrations; and
WHEREAS,
Linda van Rees, the granddaughter of Harry J. Hoenselaar, is the Chairman of the
HoneyBaked Ham Company of Georgia, Inc., and is committed to carrying on the
wonderful tradition and legacy of the Hoenselaar family, still preparing the
HoneyBaked Ham the same way that Harry did – one ham at a
time.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize and commend the HoneyBaked Ham Company, and congratulate it
on the occasion of its 50th anniversary.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Linda van
Rees of the HoneyBaked Ham Company of Georgia, Inc.
