RESOLUTION
Commending
the Norcross High School Blue Devils basketball team on winning the Class AAAAA
championship; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Norcross High School Blue Devils basketball team has maintained a proud
tradition of athletic excellence with equal emphases on character and academics;
and
WHEREAS,
this superlative team completed a whirlwind season with a record of 28-3, and a
second straight state championship; and
WHEREAS,
the road to the championship was long and difficult, but the Blue Devils beat
the Centennial Knights 59-58 to secure their title; and
WHEREAS,
the Blue Devils were led by Coach Eddie Martin and his key players included Gani
Lawal, Tarriq Mohammad, Tony Neysmith, Jordan DeMercy, Al-Farouq Aminu, and
Denzail Jones; and
WHEREAS,
as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by
performing with courage and precision over months of hard work, it is just and
proper to call them champions.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize the Norcross High School Blue Devils basketball team for its
unparalleled determination, tenacity, and character, commend Coach Eddie Martin
for his dedicated coaching at Norcross High School, and extend their sincerest
best wishes for continued success.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Norcross
High School Blue Devils basketball team.
