RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mountain View Personal Care Home; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mountain View Personal Care Home was established in 1882 as the "poor farm" and
"alms house" for DeKalb County's indigent elderly population; and
WHEREAS,
Mountain View Personal Care Home has continually served the DeKalb County
community for 125 years; and
WHEREAS,
Mountain View Personal Care Home is the last free-standing, post-Civil War
facility owned by a county government in the State of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
Mountain View Personal Care Home, Inc. is a not for profit charity and the
operating entity of Mountain View Personal Care Home; and
WHEREAS,
Mountain View Personal Care Home has provided superlative services to the
indigent elderly of DeKalb County since its inception through its dedicated and
selfless volunteers, staff, and Board of Directors; and
WHEREAS,
Mountain View Personal Care Home has benefited countless numbers of DeKalb
County citizens who have received comfort, care, and support throughout the last
125 years; and
WHEREAS,
Mountain View Personal Care Home has made a significant contribution to the
welfare of the indigent elderly throughout the local community, surrounding
area, and State of Georgia, raising the quality of life for those people who
might otherwise have been denied the benefits of such care.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in recognizing and commending the invaluable work of Mountain
View Personal Care Home and extend their sincere gratitude for their
long-standing commitment to the citizens of Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mountain View
Personal Care Home.
