RESOLUTION
Congratulating
Mr. Bob Pedde; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Bob Pedde, president of Washington Savannah River Company (WSRC) for more
than five years, has been named executive vice president of International
Government Nuclear Programs for the Energy & Environment Business Unit of
Washington Group International; and
WHEREAS,
prior to his appointment as WSRC´s president in August 2001, Mr. Pedde, who
managed the U.S. Department of Energy´s Savannah River Site during one of
its most challenging periods, served two years as WSRC´s executive vice
president, and
WHEREAS,
this Michigan State University graduate joined WSRC in 1989 as project manager
for the P Reactor Restart Program after 19 years in engineering and management
positions with the Tennessee Valley Authority and later served as project
director and program manager and then area manager of the Replacement Tritium
Facility; and
WHEREAS,
he was appointed WSRC vice president for Defense Programs in 1996;
and
WHEREAS,
in his new role as executive vice president of International Government Nuclear
Programs for the Energy & Environment Business Unit, he will work with Power
and Mining Business Unit leaders to address market needs across the full nuclear
life cycle internationally; and
WHEREAS,
his significant organizational and leadership talents, his remarkable patience
and diplomacy, and his keen sense of vision have earned him the respect and
admiration of his colleagues and associates; and
WHEREAS,
he is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness;
and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished individual be appropriately recognized.

NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body congratulate Mr. Bob Pedde on being named executive vice president of
International Government Nuclear Programs for the Energy & Environment
Business Unit of Washington Group International and extend to him their most
sincere best wishes for success and for continued health and
happiness.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Bob
Pedde.
