RESOLUTION
Congratulating
the coaches and players of the West Georgia Wolverines wheelchair basketball
team and inviting them to appear before the House of Representatives; and for
other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the West Georgia Wolverines wheelchair basketball team plays their home games
and practices at the Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation;
and
WHEREAS,
they won the state championship game at the Gwinnett Civic Center; and
WHEREAS,
the players on this championship team are: Kyle Wriston, the team captain and a
senior at Meriwether High School; Laura Ray, an eighth grader at Flint River
Academy; Doug Johnston, a sixth grader at Meriwether Middle School; Leslie Ann
Hutchins, a seventh grader at Lafayette Christian Academy; Eugene Dalton, a
sixth grader at Meriwether Middle School; and Tim Peek, a sophomore at East
Coweta High School; and
WHEREAS,
the coaches on this championship team are: head coach, Richard McIntyre, "Coach
Mac"; assistant coach, Ric McIntyre, "Coach Ric"; and manager/trainer, Jessica
Davidson; and
WHEREAS,
this group of outstanding ladies and gentlemen proved they were willing to do
the hard work and make the sacrifices necessary to become champions, and it is
only fitting that they receive the accolades they so richly
deserve.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body congratulate the coaches and players of the West Georgia Wolverines
wheelchair basketball team and invite them to appear before the House of
Representatives on a day and at a time designated by the Speaker of the House of
Representatives.
