RESOLUTION
Commending
the Tift County High School Future Farmers of America biodiesel group; and for
other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Tift County High School Future Farmers of America have established and
maintained a proud tradition of excellence with emphases on character and
academics; and
WHEREAS,
this superlative group competed in the Georgia Conservancy's 2007 Youth
Environmental Symposium contest in Atlanta, Georgia, against some 50 other
schools and won first place; and
WHEREAS,
the group's project was the conversion of a tractor to run on biodiesel fuel
that the students produced which has been exceptionally successful, allowing the
students to operate the tractor with fuel costs of only 24 cents per gallon;
and
WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of this group is a clear indication of the outstanding ability, the dedication and hard work, and the unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the group and the astute direction of Tift County High School agricultural mechanics teacher Jimmy Cargle; and
WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of this group is a clear indication of the outstanding ability, the dedication and hard work, and the unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the group and the astute direction of Tift County High School agricultural mechanics teacher Jimmy Cargle; and
WHEREAS,
this magnificent group is composed of Marvin Chaney, Michael Davis, Jarod Glatz,
Trae Kirkland, Brandon May, Justin Moore, Trey Payne, Brandon Ross, and Will
Sumner.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend the Tift County High School Future Farmers of America
biodiesel group for its outstanding achievements and extend their sincerest
best wishes for continued success in the future.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Tift
County High School Future Farmers of America biodiesel group and their teacher
Jimmy Cargle.
