RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Thomas A. Price on the occasion of his retirement; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Thomas A. Price began his career in education in 1970 and dedicated over 30
years to improving the lives of students as a teacher, coach, principal, and
assistant superintendent, and served the citizens of Columbia County as their
Superintendent of Schools from 1998-2007; and
WHEREAS,
the Columbia County School System made tremendous advancements and progress
under Mr. Price's leadership, holding public forums to discuss rezoning options
due to growth, building eight elementary, four middle, and two high schools, and
improving the lives of well over 3,000 families; and
WHEREAS,
during his time of service, Thomas A. Price has recognized the importance of
partnering with parents, teachers, and community leaders to achieve excellence
in education, and has challenged the youth of Columbia County to advance to
higher levels of education and to improve the quality of their lives;
and
WHEREAS,
the remarkable patience and diplomacy, the integrity, and the sensitivity to the
needs of the citizens of this county earned Thomas A. Price the respect and
admiration of students, employees, and colleagues.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that this body commend
Thomas A. Price on an outstanding career in public education, and for his
effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the citizens of Columbia
County.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Thomas A.
Price.
