A RESOLUTION


Commending the 2006-2007 Pro Cheer Junior Coed and Senior All-Girl teams and inviting them to appear before the House of Representatives; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the 2006-2007 Pro Cheer competition teams have finished another phenomenal season, culminating in their capture of the Junior Coed and Senior All-Girl Grand Championship titles at the World Spirit Federation National Championship in Atlanta, Georgia; and

WHEREAS, these outstanding young athletes have demonstrated considerable talent, discipline, coordination, and teamwork throughout the season, and their cheerleading routines and formations reflect their creativity, spirit, and athleticism; and

WHEREAS, the squad's performance is indicative of the extensive training, direction, and support these cheerleaders have received from their coaches and parents; and

WHEREAS, Pro Cheer, Georgia's first cheerleading training center, was founded by Tommy Martin in 1992 and has won over 51 National Championships; and

WHEREAS, Pro Cheer has trained and placed over 100 cheerleaders onto the university cheerleading squads of such schools as the University of Georgia, Clemson University, the University of Alabama, the University of Tennessee, Columbus State University, and the University of West Georgia; and

WHEREAS, Pro Cheer has cultivated a positive learning environment where team members
learn to successfully navigate a highly competitive atmosphere while still having fun.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the 2006-2007 Pro Cheer Junior Coed and Senior All-Girl teams for their inspiring performance and express their heartiest congratulations to these very capable young athletes and their coaches.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the coaches, parents, and members of the 2006-2007 Pro Cheer Junior Coed and Senior All-Girl teams are hereby invited to appear before the House of Representatives at a time to be fixed by the Speaker of the House for the purpose of being recognized by the House, and the Clerk of the House is authorized and directed to transmit appropriate copies of this resolution to the Pro Cheer gyms of Lawrenceville and Hoschton, Georgia.
