A RESOLUTION


Congratulating the 2006 First Presbyterian Day School Cross Country Team on winning the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA) Class AAA Boys State Championship; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, since the program's origin in the fall of 1999, Coach Chad McDaniel has led the First Presbyterian Day School Cross Country Team through one explosive campaign after another; and

WHEREAS, this outstanding team has given a phenomenal performance every single year, winning the GISA Class AAA Boys Region Two Championship for seven years in a row and winning the GISA Class AAA Boys State Championship five times; and

WHEREAS, teammates Joby Peake, Scott Cope, Robert Bradham, Brandon Suttle, Rawson Ridley, Andrew Scott, and Drew Wood were recognized as members of the 2006 All Region Two AAA Team, and the 2006 Georgia All-State Team included Joby Peake, Scott Cope, Robert Bradham, Brandon Suttle, and Rawson Ridley; and

WHEREAS, Joby Peake was honored as the 2006 Macon Telegraph All-Middle Georgia Runner of the Year, the 2006 Individual Region Two Champion, and the 2006 Individual State Champion; and

WHEREAS, for their entire career at First Presbyterian Day School, the members of senior class of 2007 have never lost a GISA cross country competition, and as members of the varsity team, they have been undefeated from the beginning of the 2002 season through the completion of the 2006 season; and

WHEREAS, the team's amazing success is a clear indication of the athletic ability, dedication, and hard work of each team member and of the astute direction of the five time GISA AAA Boys State Coach of the Year, Chad McDaniel.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the First Presbyterian Day School Cross Country Team for its extraordinary development and success over the past eight years, congratulate its members on winning the 2006 Georgia Independent School Association (GISA) Class AAA Boys State Championship, and extend to them the best of wishes for their future.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Coach Chad McDaniel.
