RESOLUTION
Congratulating
Miss Bliss McMichael on being named Georgia's Junior Miss for the Class of 2007
and inviting her to appear before the House of Representatives; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
as a senior at Trinity Christian School, Bliss McMichael represented Laurens
County in the Georgia Junior Miss competition, winning $5,600 in cash
scholarships in addition to several full-tuition scholarships at various
universities throughout the nation; and
WHEREAS,
this young lady is a highly motivated, talented, and civically active student;
and
WHEREAS,
she is a scholar athlete who has received All Region and All State awards in
basketball, is the captain of the varsity cheerleading squad, and has been named
the 2006 Female Christian Athlete of the Year; and
WHEREAS,
for her talent presentation Bliss performed a piano piece titled "Aragonaise"
from the opera "Le Cid"; and
WHEREAS,
she has been chosen as a Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Ambassador and graduated
from the Laurens Youth leadership program; and
WHEREAS,
she is actively involved with the Knightingales Vocal Troupe and the United
Methodist Youth Fellowship as a member of the Servant Leadership Team;
and
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia is honored to have such an accomplished young
citizen.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in congratulating Miss Bliss McMichael on being named Georgia's
Junior Miss for the Class of 2007.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Miss Bliss McMichael is hereby invited to appear before
the House of Representatives at a date and time to be fixed by the Speaker of
the House for the purposes of being recognized by the House and receiving an
appropriate copy of this resolution.
