RESOLUTION
Commending
Marshall "Woody" Williams for his service to the citizens of Morgan County; and
for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Marshall Williams has generously and tirelessly served Morgan County and its
citizens as archivist for county records; and
WHEREAS,
he has conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time and energy toward
the betterment of his community and state, evidenced by his more than 20 years
of outstanding service as a volunteer in the community; and
WHEREAS,
prior to his volunteer efforts, he furthered the cause of education in Morgan
County through his service as school administrator and principal of Morgan
County High School; and
WHEREAS,
he has contributed many years to sorting, organizing, and cataloging thousands
of historical documents related to Morgan County as well as its many
communities, including Madison; and
WHEREAS,
he has been an invaluable resource for local residents as well as individuals
from across the state and nation seeking legal documents and information
relating to their professional interests or personal history; and
WHEREAS,
he is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
remarkable and distinguished individual be appropriately recognized upon his
retirement on December 31, 2006.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Marshall Williams for his many years of efficient, unselfish,
and dedicated service and extend to him their most sincere wishes for a healthy
and joyful retirement.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Marshall
Williams.
