A
RESOLUTION
Remembering
and honoring the life of Mr. Larry A. Loughridge; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia and Murray County lost a most estimable citizen on October
9, 2006, with the passing of Mr. Larry Loughridge of Chatsworth, Georgia;
and
WHEREAS,
Larry graduated North Whitfield High School, attended Abraham Baldwin
Agricultural College and was a graduate of the University of Georgia, a farmer,
educator, and active member of the Holly Creek Baptist Church; and
WHEREAS,
he gave many years of dedicated service to Murray County´s Farm Bureau
serving on the Board of Directors as president, vice-president and member;
and
WHEREAS,
he was past board member for the Murray County Red Cross, Charter member of the
Rotary Club, past Director and member of the Young Farmers Association, member
of the Murray County and Northwest Georgia Cattlemen´s Association,
Director and past President for the Georgia Santa Gertrudis Association,
Director of the National Polled Santa Gertrudis Association, supervisor of the
Limestone Valley Soil and Water Conservation District, Murray County´s
representative for the Limestone Valley RC and D council and member of the Farm
Services Committee for Murray County; and
WHEREAS,
he approached these positions with a true sense of duty and responsibility and
provided outstanding leadership and service to Murray County; and
WHEREAS,
he leaves behind his loving and devoted family, including his wife, Linda Davis
Loughridge; his daughters and sons-in-law Nicole and Eric Shields and Andrea and
Jason Ridley; son John Amos Loughridge; grandsons Preston Tate Shields and
Tucker Davis Ridley; and his sister and brother-in-law Janette and Steve
Cadwell; and
WHEREAS,
all who had the privilege to know this extraordinary gentleman will always
affectionately remember him for his strength, integrity, kindness, and devotion
as a husband, father and grandfather.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in remembering and honoring the life of Mr. Larry Loughridge, and
extend their most sincere condolences to his family and friends.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Larry
Loughridge and family.
