A
RESOLUTION
Congratulating
and commending the Fairyland Elementary School faculty and students; and for
other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Fairyland Elementary faculty and students competed against every school in
the state for Single Statewide Accountability System awards and was only one of
27 schools in the entire state to earn the Gold Award; and
WHEREAS,
the Governor's Office of Student Achievement annually recognizes schools that
make dramatic improvements in student performance; and
WHEREAS,
the criteria to be met for the Gold Award are making adequate yearly progress
for two consecutive years, demonstrating that at least 30 percent of students
exceed standards in all test areas as measured by state assessment, and placing
in the 97th percentile or higher state-wide in greatest student achievement
gains; and
WHEREAS,
Fairyland Elementary has earned two Gold and one Silver Achievement Awards for
the past three academic years; and
WHEREAS,
it takes the combined efforts of teachers, principals, and parents working with
students to achieve this level of success; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that Fairyland Elementary School be
recognized appropriately upon the grand occasion of this extraordinary
achievement.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body heartily congratulate Fairyland Elementary School for earning
state-wide recognition for student achievement and commend them for their
efforts to improve education in their community and this state.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Principal Dr.
Terry Stevenson and Fairyland Elementary School.
