RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Bill Segars, honoree of the Rome Chapter of Ducks Unlimited; and
for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Bill Segars is an auctioneer with Dempsey Auction Company, Incorporated where he
has loyally served since 1978; and
WHEREAS,
each year, Bill auctions at ten or more Ducks Unlimited banquets all across the
Southeast, and as an auctioneer for Ducks Unlimited, he has raised millions of
dollars and traveled more miles than any other Ducks Unlimited employee; and
WHEREAS,
Ducks Unlimited is an organization dedicated to raising money for wildlife
watersheds and wetlands for nesting grounds, and such funds are raised through
donations and the auctioning of items local businesses and individuals donate to
the cause; and
WHEREAS,
in recognition of his faithful and diligent services, the Rome Chapter of Ducks
Unlimited honored Mr. Bill Segars for his unsurpassed work and fund raising as
an outstanding auctioneer; and
WHEREAS,
Bill Segars is a devoted husband and loving father, and this fun loving man is a
friend to all he meets; and
WHEREAS,
his strong work ethic and spirit of civic duty have greatly contributed to the
preservation of wildlife for the enjoyment of Georgia's citizens for many years
to come; and
WHEREAS,
Bill Segars is an outstanding auctioneer, civic leader, and public servant and
an integral part of the life of his community, and his many contributions to
this state are worthy of commendation.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Bill Segars for his valuable contributions to the preservation
of wildlife in the State of Georgia and congratulate him on being selected as an
honoree of the Rome Chapter of Ducks Unlimited.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Bill Segars.
