A
RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending the Appling County Bulldawgs 4-H Gun Team for winning the 42nd
Annual Jaycee International BB Gun Championship; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Appling County Bulldawgs 4-H Gun Team has an amazing history, remaining
undefeated on the state level for the past four years with a record of
approximately 463 wins and no losses and capturing 11 state championships in
three different programs, and this outstanding shooting team has had
approximately 140 national wins over the past five years; and
WHEREAS,
on July 1, 2007, the Appling County Bulldawgs sealed their first place victory
at the 42nd Annual Jaycee International BB Gun Championship at the Western
Kentucky University campus, shutting out 32 other skilled teams and winning the
gold medal with a score of 2382 out of a possible 2500; and
WHEREAS,
the Appling County Bulldawgs are the first Georgia team in the history of the
IBBGCM to ever win the coveted first place tittle; and
WHEREAS,
the team´s winning record is due to the hard work and dedication of its
extraordinary five team members and two alternative members: Hallie Hardwick;
Wade Edwards; Jordan Roberson; Dustin Stipe; Brittany Hardwick, who placed 5th
overall; Trevor Causey, who placed 2nd overall; and Jordan Vaughn, who
distinguished himself by winning the gold medal for first place overall with the
highest aggregate score of 485 out of a possible 500, making him the Individual
National Champion; and
WHEREAS,
in its many years, the winning coaches for the Appling County Bulldawgs have
touched the lives of hundreds of young people, always giving each child the
attention needed to train top shooters; Tim Toler, Bob McDonald, and Daniel
Edwards are dedicated, exemplary coaches, encouraging each team member to do his
or her very best; and
WHEREAS,
the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of its superb
shooting ability, dedication to hard work, and the unity of purpose and spirit
of each member of the team; and in a world which seems to accentuate the
negative aspects of young people, it is abundantly fitting and proper for this
body to honor the extraordinary accomplishments and unsurpassed commitment to
excellence of such an outstanding team.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend the team members and coaches of the Appling County Bulldawgs
4-H Gun Team for their exceptional accomplishments and congratulate them on
winning the 42nd Annual Jaycee International BB Gun Championship.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Appling
County Bulldawgs 4-H Gun Team.
