A RESOLUTION


Commending Dr. Guy R. Orangio; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Dr. Guy R. Orangio was born in Hoboken, New Jersey, on December 28, 1950, and received his education at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Columbia University, College of Physicians & Surgeons, and New York Medical College, and he performed his general surgery residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, New York; and

WHEREAS, he has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of his state as evidenced dramatically by his exemplary service as a surgeon with Georgia Colon & Rectal Surgical Associates, PC; and

WHEREAS, his professional affiliations include being a Fellow of the American Society Colon & Rectal Surgeons; Fellow of the American College of Surgeons; member of the American College of Physician Executives; the Medical Association of Atlanta; the DeKalb Medical Society; the American Medical Association; Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America, Inc.; Professional Advisory Board for the Wellness Community; Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons; Southeastern Surgical Congress; Georgia Medical Care Foundation Physician Consultant; and the Southwest Oncology Group; and

WHEREAS, he serves with distinction on numerous hospital committees and in various hospital appointed capacities; and

WHEREAS, his significant organizational and leadership talents, his remarkable patience and diplomacy, his keen sense of vision, and his sensitivity to the needs of his patients and the boards and committees on which he serves have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and associates; and

WHEREAS, he is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; his loyalty, competency, and reliability have distinguished his superlative service to this state; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Dr. Guy R. Orangio for his many decades of efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated service to the medical community and this state and extend to him their best wishes for continued health and happiness.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Dr. Guy R. Orangio.
