RESOLUTION
Honoring
the life of and expressing regret at the passing of Casper Rich, Jr.; and for
other purposes.
WHEREAS,
on April 1, 2008, the State of Georgia lost one of its finest and most
distinguished citizens with the passing of Casper Rich, Jr.; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Rich was born in Bainbridge, Georgia, on June 24, 1924, and at 18 he joined
the United States Marine Corps serving in World War II in the Mariana Islands,
South Pacific, and upon returning from the service he attended Emory University
as a pre-law student and obtained his Juris Doctorate in Law in 1952; and
WHEREAS,
he diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time,
talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community as evidenced
dramatically by his many years of superlative service as an attorney from 1953
until 2003, in his own law firm of Rich, Bass, Kidd & Witcher, in Atlanta,
Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
this singular gentleman was a person of magnanimous strengths with an
unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness,
who always had time for his fellow lawyers and friends.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body express their deepest and most sincere regret at the passing of J.
Casper Rich, Jr., and commend him for a lifetime of efficient, effective,
unselfish, and dedicated service to the citizens of his community and this
state.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of
Casper Rich, Jr.
