A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending Margaret G. Caution on the occasion of her 100th birthday; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Margaret G. Caution was born on April 24, 1908, a native daughter of Georgia, and this year, she will enjoy the rare distinction of celebrating her 100th birthday; and

WHEREAS, she is a faithful member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church where she served the Lord for many years as the talented church organist and by singing beautifully in the church choir; and

WHEREAS, her tremendous love for children led her to become an outstanding and dedicated teacher who imparted knowledge and wisdom to hundreds of children in her caring and loving manner; and

WHEREAS, she taught positive values to all of the many students who were in her classes and benefitted from her 40 year teaching career; and

WHEREAS, she was the devoted wife of the late Reverend Gustave H. Caution, Sr., and she loyally supported his work as he served for many years as the first priest of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, and together, they acted as a cornerstone upon which the Lord built the strong foundation of His church; and

WHEREAS, she is a loving and doting mother whose life is an inspiration and model to all who know her; and

WHEREAS, this distinguished senior gentlewoman has given inspiration to many through her high ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens, and she possesses the vast wisdom which comes only through experience and the strength of character which is achieved through overcoming the many challenges of life; and
WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example she has made of her life, she makes this world a better place in which to live, and it is only fitting and proper that she be appropriately recognized during this very special time of her life.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that this body commends Margaret G. Caution for her unselfish, dedicated, and loving service to the members of her family and the citizens of her community and state; congratulates her on the remarkable occasion of her 100th birthday; and extends to her its most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Margaret G. Caution.
