RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Dr. Robert L. Wright, Jr.; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Dr. Robert L Wright, Jr. is a gentleman of extraordinary compassion and dignity
who has provided years of indispensable service to his fellow Georgians and
Americans; and
WHEREAS,
Dr. Wright has pledged a gift of over $2 million to the Columbus Technical
College as part of the college´s capital campaign; and
WHEREAS,
these funds will be coupled with private and state allocations to be used for
the construction of the Dr. Robert L. Wright, Jr. Health Sciences Center which
will be located on the River Road campus; and
WHEREAS,
this new health science center will enable students to achieve their dreams
through being qualified for satisfying work; and
WHEREAS,
the extraordinary generosity of Dr. Wright exemplifies his inexhaustible
optimism, perseverance, and determination to create and maximize opportunities;
and
WHEREAS,
he is a native of Columbus and a graduate of Ohio State University, a school
that has also benefited from Dr. Wright´s generosity; and
WHEREAS,
Dr. Wright is a successful businessman in both Georgia and Washington, D.C., and
is the founder and chairman emeritus of Dimensions International, Inc., an
international information technology company; and
WHEREAS,
he currently serves on the Board of Directors of AFLAC, Inc. and is a former
Columbus Council member; and
WHEREAS,
his immeasurable wisdom and grace have encouraged several generations of
relatives, friends, colleagues, and neighbors in Georgia and throughout the
United States.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize this wonderful servant of the community, Dr. Robert L.
Wright, Jr.; commend his numerous fantastic contributions to this state; and
extend to him their sincerest best wishes for his future health and
fulfillment.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Dr. Robert L.
Wright, Jr.
