RESOLUTION
Commending
Marvin Broadwater, Sr., the Omega Psi Phi Man of the Year; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Marvin Broadwanter, Sr., has been recognized as the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity
Man of the Year for 2007; and
WHEREAS,
he received this coveted award for his dedication and commitment on behalf of
his chapter's community based projects, and some of his achievements include
serving as chairman of the social action, blood bank, and political action
committees, spearheading seven voter registration drives, revising the "Get out
to Vote" campaign, providing instrumental leadership in reclamation and
retention efforts by redesigning the weekly luncheon program, assisting in
reactivating the young men mentoring program, and playing a vital part in
committees such as membership selection, the purple and gold golf tournament,
the assault on illiteracy program, the talent hunt, welfare and hospitality, and
the condolence program; and
WHEREAS,
he is a loving husband to his wife, Shurmain, and they are the proud parents of
two children, Marvin, Jr., and Maya.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Marvin Broadwater, Sr., for his outstanding community service
in the Columbus area and congratulate him upon his recognition as Man of the
Year by the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Marvin
Broadwater, Sr.
