A
RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Renee Pinkard; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Rockmart Middle School and the Polk County School District have selected Renee
Pinkard for Teacher of the Year for 2007-2008;
and
WHEREAS, Renee Pinkard has taught school since 1981, and is widely recognized for her teaching abilities as a seventh grade language arts teacher and also as a competitive cheerleading coach; and
WHEREAS, Renee Pinkard has taught school since 1981, and is widely recognized for her teaching abilities as a seventh grade language arts teacher and also as a competitive cheerleading coach; and
WHEREAS,
she obtained her undergraduate degree in English/secondary education from West
Georgia College, a master's in middle grades education from Berry College, and a
specialist degree in curriculum development from Piedmont College;
and
WHEREAS,
she has fulfilled her role as a teacher, serving as an instrument of inspiration
and enthusiasm to her pupils and creating a positive and encouraging learning
environment; and
WHEREAS,
she is a shining example of the important impact that the efforts of individual
classroom teachers make on the quality of education received by the children of
this state, and it is abundantly fitting and proper that her superlative
accomplishments be recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body heartily and gratefully commend Renee Pinkard for her sacrifice,
foresight, accomplishment, and contributions on behalf of education in Georgia
and for the positive influence she has had upon the lives and futures of so many
young people in this state and congratulate her upon being selected as Teacher
of the Year for 2007-2008 for Rockmart Middle School and the Polk County School
District.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Renee
Pinkard.
