A RESOLUTION


Recognizing James "Jay" W. LeGrande; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, James is married to the former Golda Whiteside and they have been blessed with two children, Judy Renshaw and Janet Simmons, and three wonderful grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, he has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community and state as evidenced dramatically by his many years of outstanding community service; and

WHEREAS, he is retiring after 11 years of commendable service on the Board of Directors of Coosa Valley Technical College, currently as the chairperson; and

WHEREAS, he is a life-long resident of Rockmart and was a member of the 1950 Rockmart High School state championship football team; and

WHEREAS, he is a highly regarded member of the Rockmart community, serving as a founding member of the Board of Directors of United Bank and Trust Company, chairperson and long-time member of the Rockmart Development Authority, and 47 years as a deacon at Fairview Baptist Church of Rockmart; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable public servant be appropriately recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend James "Jay" W. LeGrande for his many decades of efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service and extend to him their most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to James "Jay" W. LeGrande.
