A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending Jeff Gary on the occasion of his retirement; and

WHEREAS, Jeff Gary graduated from Columbus State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology in August, 1997; and

WHEREAS, he has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of his state as evidenced dramatically by his 34 years of exemplary service as a public servant working with the Columbus Department of Public Health as an Environmental Health Technician, and thereafter he was promoted to an Environmental Health Technician III; and

WHEREAS, he was again promoted to District Environmental Health Director for the LaGrange District 4 in June, 1995, and served in this capacity until he became the Environmental Health Director, Division of Public Health, for the Department of Human Resources in July, 1999, in which position he currently serves; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Gary will retire with 34 years of service this year; and

WHEREAS, he is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; his loyalty, competence, reliability, and enthusiasm have distinguished his superlative service to this state; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Jeff Gary for his many decades of efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the citizens of this state and extend to him their most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Jeff Gary.
