RESOLUTION
Recognizing
L.E.A.D. Athens and Leadership Oconee for their contributions to developing
community leaders; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
L.E.A.D. Athens and Leadership Oconee are adult leadership development programs
seeking to provide current and emerging community leaders an opportunity to
enhance leadership skills, become more aware of their total community and to
create a forum for discussion of community opportunities and challenges;
and
WHEREAS,
L.E.A.D. Athens is organized, sponsored, and supported by the Athens-Clarke
County Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS,
Leadership Oconee is organized, sponsored, and supported by the Athens-Clarke
County Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS,
members of L.E.A.D. Athens and Leadership Oconee explore a wide range of issues
including the economic development at the state, regional, and local level as
well as educating themselves to come to understand the workings of the
healthcare system and local and state government; and
WHEREAS,
L.E.A.D. Athens and Leadership Oconee strive to maintain the natural beauty of
Athens-Clarke County and Oconee County as well as to preserve the rich history
of their communities and the surrounding region; and
WHEREAS,
a joint delegation from L.E.A.D. Athens and Leadership Oconee will be visiting
the capitol on February 8, 2007 and this delegation should be recognized by all
for the work they do to better their respective communities; and
WHEREAS,
the Athens-Clarke County and Oconee County Chambers of Commerce should be
commended for their dedication to and support of L.E.A.D. Athens and Leadership
Oconee.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize L.E.A.D. Athens and Leadership Oconee, as well as the
Athens-Clarke County Chamber of Commerce and the Oconee County Chamber of
Commerce, for their efforts in building leaders in the Athens-Clarke County and
Oconee County communities.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to L.E.A.D.
Athens and Leadership Oconee.
