A RESOLUTION


Expressing regret at the passing of Mr. Sylvester K. Bailey; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the State of Georgia lost one of its finest and most distinguished citizens with the passing of Mr. Sylvester K. Bailey; and

WHEREAS, he was an honest and dedicated man who strived for excellence in all his endeavors as evidenced dramatically by his many years of superlative service as an outstanding businessman; and

WHEREAS, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia; and

WHEREAS, he joined the Gammu Zata Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity on May 9, 1975; and

WHEREAS, he worked with the State of Florida as a senior health and safety inspector; and

WHEREAS, he made significant contributions to the business community in other ways, such as building and leasing homes, and he owned and operated several businesses that provided jobs and mentoring to future entrepreneurs; and

WHEREAS, he was president of ADU School of Cosmetology and vice president of All Dolled Up Salons, established in 1985; and

WHEREAS, he was a devoted husband to his wife of 29 years, a loving father to his son and daughter, and a doting grandfather to his grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, he was a classic gentleman and a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper for this body to recognize with particularity the outstanding life of this extraordinary individual.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body express their deepest and most sincere regret at the passing of Mr. Sylvester K. Bailey.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Mr. Sylvester K. Bailey.
