A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and honoring the life of Eve Marie Carson; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Eve Marie Carson of Athens, Georgia, left her mark on the lives of many; and

WHEREAS, Eve Marie Carson was born on November 19, 1985, to Bob and Teresa Carson, and attended Clarke Central High School where she graduated as Valedictorian of the Class of 2004; and

WHEREAS, she went on to turn down a number of Ivy League schools to accept a Morehead-Cane Scholarship to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she majored in biology and political science and became a North Carolina Fellow in a leadership development program for undergraduates; and

WHEREAS, she was elected student body president at the University of North Carolina, served on the Board of Trustees, and was active in many other endeavors; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Carson inspired and cared for many, taking on the issues of health care and poverty, and she taught elementary school and coached a running program; and

WHEREAS, she was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; her loyalty, competency, reliability, and enthusiasm distinguished her superlative service to this state; and her friendship was counted by everyone as a special experience they will always treasure; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this distinguished Georgian be appropriately remembered.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and honor the life of Eve Marie Carson and extend to her family their most sincere condolences.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Eve Marie Carson.
