A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending Judge J. E. "Bo" Earnest; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Judge J. E. "Bo" Earnest is the son of the late Hoke and Vera Earnest and he began his education at FDR school and graduated from Seminole High School in 1960; and

WHEREAS, he is a loving husband to his wife Jerrie Worsley Earnest, and a devoted father and grandfather to his two sons and three grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, at the end of 2008, Judge Earnest will have served the citizens of Seminole County for 40 years and is honored that during that time no one has run against him for the past 20 years; and

WHEREAS, at the beginning of his first term, he was the youngest probate judge in the state, and now at the end of his career he is the second highest in seniority state wide;

WHEREAS, he has been active in the Georgia Probate Judges Association, received the Liberty Bell Award on Law Day in 1994, is a member of the Chamber of Commerce, the Donalsonville Country Club, and the Donalsonville Lions Club where he is a past president; and

WHEREAS, he has been a member of the Friendship United Methodist church for almost 30 years and is a member of the Julian Webb Sunday School Class; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Judge J. E. "Bo" Earnest for his many decades of efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the citizens of his community and this state and extend to him their most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Judge J. E. "Bo" Earnest.
