RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and honoring the life of Mr. William "Billy" C. Lane; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia lost one of its finest and most distinguished citizens with
the loss of Mr. William "Billy" C. Lane; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Lane was a Morgan County, Kentucky, native, a former resident of Darien,
Georgia, and lived in Glynn County for the past 30 years; and
WHEREAS,
he was an honest and dedicated man who strived for excellence in all his
endeavors, as evidenced by his many years of superlative service as the parts
manager at Kings Colonial Ford in Brunswick, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
he was an avid reader and fisherman, and a devoted family man to his wife of 35
years, Mrs. Ellen Martin Lane; his three sons, Will, Seth, and Josh; his
granddaughter, Summer; his mother, Mabel Lane Wilder; his two sisters, Carolyn
and Barbara; and his three brothers, his twin Jerry, Bob, and State
Representative Roger Lane; and
WHEREAS,
he was a dedicated member of his community, a member and deacon at Union Baptist
Church, and a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation
for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and
WHEREAS,
his remarkable patience and his acute sensitivity to the needs of his family,
friends, and colleagues earned him the respect and admiration of everyone who
knew him.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize and honor the life of Mr. William C. Lane and express their
deepest and most sincere condolences to his family.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of
Mr. William C. Lane.
