RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Corporal Michael Crowder of the Chatham County Sheriff's Office;
and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia lost nine of its finest citizens in the explosion at the
Imperial Sugar Company refinery in Port Wentworth, Georgia, on February 7, 2008;
and
WHEREAS,
hundreds of law enforcement officials, doctors, paramedics, chaplains, blood
donors, pilots, mothers, fathers, sons, and daughters bravely converged on the
scene of the disaster to help; and
WHEREAS,
Corporal Michael Crowder of the Chatham County Sheriff's Office was involved in
handling the traffic along the route for the funeral processions held in Chatham
County and did an exemplary job and is to be commended for his outstanding
efforts; and
WHEREAS,
in the face of mortal challenges, the communities of Port Wentworth and Savannah
strode forward in healing, walking as brothers and sisters in arms.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join together in recognizing the exemplary efforts of Corporal Michael
Crowder of the Chatham County Sheriff's Office and commend him for his
outstanding performance.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is hereby
authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to
Corporal Michael Crowder.
