A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending the Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield Warrior Transition Unit (WTU) and inviting them to appear before the House of Representatives; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield Warrior Transition Unit (WTU) is where wounded, injured, and ill soldiers are medically treated and rehabilitated to prepare them for a successful return to duty or transition to productive civilian life; and

WHEREAS, the Warrior Transition Unit has established an integrated and comprehensive continuum of care and services for warriors in transition who are receiving treatment at army medical treatment facilities; and

WHEREAS, an essential part of a warrior in transition's healing is to include family members in the entire rehabilitation process; and

WHEREAS, beyond healing, the Warrior Transition Unit also provides myriad administrative and family support services; and

WHEREAS, the mission of the warrior in transition is, "I am a Warrior in Transition. My job is to heal as I transition back to duty or continue serving the nation as a Veteran in my community. This is not a status but a mission. I will succeed in this mission because I am a Warrior and I am Army Strong"; and

WHEREAS, the Warriors in Transition's service both domestically and in theatre characterize its commitment to the army; and

WHEREAS, warriors in transition have made and continue to make outstanding contributions to the army; and

WHEREAS, they have served as examples in leadership, courage, and service before self.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body join together in recognizing the Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield Warrior Transition Unit and commend them on the outstanding services they offer to the men and women serving our county and invite them to appear before this body at a date and time designated by the Speaker of the House for the purpose of being recognized by the House and receiving appropriate copies of this resolution.
