A
RESOLUTION
Commending
Amanda Jones; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Amanda Jones is widely recognized throughout this state as the personification
of excellence in education; and
WHEREAS,
this highly respected professional educator has served with honor and
distinction as an advance placement environmental science teacher at Southeast
Whitfield High School and has been selected by the Georgia Science Teachers
Association as the 2008 Science Teacher of Promise for the high school level;
and
WHEREAS,
she believes that her continuing role as a teacher is to act as an instrument of
inspiration and enthusiasm to her pupils and to create a positive learning
environment through innovative teaching practices; and
WHEREAS,
Ms. Jones obtained her master's degree from Cambridge University in
Massachusetts and has been teaching for three years, as she is in her second
year of teaching at Southeast Whitfield High School; and
WHEREAS,
through dedication and professionalism, she has brought honor to herself, her
family, her colleagues, and the Whitfield County School System, which she
represents as the 2008 Science Teacher of Promise; and
WHEREAS,
she is a shining example of the important impact that the efforts of individual
education professionals are making on the quality of education received by the
students of this state, and it is abundantly fitting and proper that her
superlative accomplishments be recognized appropriately.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body heartily and gratefully commend Amanda Jones for her sacrifice,
foresight, accomplishment, and contributions on behalf of education in Georgia;
thank her for the positive influence she has had upon the lives and futures of
countless people in this state; and extend to her their most sincere best wishes
for health and happiness in the future.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the House of Representatives is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Amanda Jones.
