A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending the Flint River Academy Wildcats football team, its coaches, and the cheerleaders and inviting them to appear before the House of Representatives; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Flint River Academy Wildcats football team has established and maintained a proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics; and

WHEREAS, this superlative team has completed another ultrasuccessful season of football competition by winning the 2007 GISA Class A state football championship with an 11-1 record; and

WHEREAS, the seniors on this team have a remarkable record of 53 wins and 3 losses; and

WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team over the past four years has developed an astonishing record of winning 44 consecutive season home games, 27 postseason wins, scoring 2,160 points, giving up just 506 points, and a regular season record of 41 wins and one loss; and

WHEREAS, five players from this year's team were selected for the GISA All Region team and four players were selected for the GISA All State team; and

WHEREAS, this record is a clear indication of the outstanding athletic ability, the dedication and hard work, and the unity of purpose of each member of the team; their superb offensive and defensive talents; the spirit of the cheerleading squad; and the astute direction of their coaches; and

WHEREAS, this magnificent team performed with precision during the season and earned its well-deserved reputation for high standards of athletic achievement, the quality of its play, and the stiff competition which it presented its opponents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the Flint River Academy Wildcats football team, its coaches, and the cheerleaders for their unparalleled achievements and invite them to appear before this body at a date and time to be designated by the Speaker of the House for the purpose of being recognized by the House and receiving an appropriate copy of this resolution.
