RESOLUTION
Commending
Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and inviting them to appear before the House of
Representatives; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity was founded at Indiana University at Bloomington,
Indiana, in 1911, and from its inception never excluded college men from
membership based upon color, creed, or national origin; and
WHEREAS,
Georgia hosts chapters of Kappa Alpha Psi on college and university campuses and
active alumni groups in communities throughout the state; and
WHEREAS,
Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity is committed to community service and actively
contributes to the educational, civic, and social life of Georgia's citizens;
and
WHEREAS,
alumni chapters encourage their members to become involved community volunteers
and leaders in education, health, economy, and fine arts; and
WHEREAS,
it is appropriate to honor those social organizations of our society that foster
the principles of equality, tolerance, and community service and to recognize
their contributions.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and commend the principles and
values endorsed by its members and the exemplary public service of its alumni
and invite them to appear before this body at a date and time designated by the
Speaker of the House of Representatives for the purposes of being recognized by
the House of Representatives and transmitting an appropriate copy of this
resolution to Province Polemarch Solomon S. Bradley.
