RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending the Hubert Heath family and declaring July 20, 2008, as "Hubert
Heath Family Day"; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Hubert Heath family held its first reunion over 30 years ago with a faithful
few in attendance in Swainsboro, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
their goal was to strengthen family bonds that would in turn encourage long
lasting relationships; and
WHEREAS,
Georgia holds special significance for this family in that it is the birth and
resting place of many of their loved ones; and
WHEREAS,
many of the original family members who organized the first reunion are now gone
and it has been three decades since they have assembled; and
WHEREAS,
the family is returning to Georgia for a reunion 30 years in the making on July
18 through 21, 2008, in Tyrone, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
July 20, 2008, will go on record as the day that they made a commitment to reach
out to their loved ones, no matter where they are in the world, and in some way,
formal or informal, let them know they are part of something great;
and
WHEREAS,
all the members of the Hubert Heath family are hoping to demonstrate to future
generations the value of relationships and acknowledge the important role that
family plays in enhancing their life experience.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body declare July 20, 2008, as "Hubert Heath Family Day" and express their
sincerest best wishes for many more successful family
reunions.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Hubert Heath family.
