RESOLUTION
Honoring
Mr. James Ellington and commending him for his 31 years of dedicated public
service to the City of Yatesville City Council; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. James Ellington is one of the longest-serving city councilmen in Yatesville,
Georgia´s history, having had a prolific 31 year career in public service,
during which he diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his
time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community and state;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Ellington has witnessed firsthand the changes and challenges the City of
Yatesville has experienced since he became involved in public service as a new
member of the city council in 1977 and over the years his many contributions
have helped the city to be a great hometown family community; and
WHEREAS,
James Ellington never shied away from tackling difficult projects or from taking
a personal hands-on approach to helping his fellow citizens; and
WHEREAS,
he is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and, by the examples he has
made of his life, he has made the City of Yatesville and the State of Georgia
better places in which to live; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize Mr. James Ellington for his service to the State of Georgia,
commend him for his 31 years of skillful and dedicated public service to the
City of Yatesville and its people, and wish him the very best in his future
endeavors.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. James
Ellington.
