RESOLUTION
Commending
the University of West Georgia All-Girl Cheerleading Team and inviting them to
appear before the House of Representatives; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
as the University of West Georgia All-Girl Cheerleading Team prepared for the
2008 nationals, many wondered if they could match their past extraordinary
achievements; and
WHEREAS,
at the 2008 nationals, West Georgia not only equaled its previous successes, but
the Wolves' program exceeded all expectations by bringing home two national
titles and establishing itself as a national powerhouse to be reckoned with;
and
WHEREAS,
a gifted young West Georgia all-girl team won its third consecutive national
title in the event and its fourth national title in all; and
WHEREAS,
the all-girl squad under the direction of Coach Ryan McKinnon consists of Ms.
Erica Baldwin, Ms. Lindsay Evanson, Ms. Ashley Hardin, Ms. Amy Phillips, Ms.
Kristi Phillips, Ms. Peggy "Amanda" Reeves, Ms. Megan Sparks, Ms. Samantha
Stevenson, Ms. Ashley Stone, Ms. Amy Wood, Ms. Ashley Zimmerman, Ms. Kelsey
Jones, Ms. Brandy Muse, Ms. Kaci Eady, Ms. Heidi Lilley, Ms. Brittany Barr, Ms.
Elyse Kenderick, Ms. Seniqua Wilburn, Ms. Katie McMahan, and Ms. Danielle
Baggerley, and all members of this outstanding team displayed a level of
competitive spirit that has rarely been equaled.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend the University of West Georgia All-Girl Cheerleading Team on
their dominating win of the Division II All-Girl Cheerleading Competition and
invite them to appear before this body on a date and at a time designated by the
Speaker of the House for the purposes of being recognized by the House and
receiving an appropriate copy of this resolution.
