RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and honoring the life of Mrs. Joy Shea Haas Stuber; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Joy Shea Haas Stuber was born in San Francisco, California, on February 21,
1947; and
WHEREAS,
she attended Catholic and public schools and college at San Francisco State
University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1971;
and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Joy Shea Haas Stuber moved to Savannah in 1972 and began raising her three
sons; and
WHEREAS,
during the 1970´s and 80´s she was active with Savannah
Children´s Theatre, the Junior League of Savannah, St. John´s
Episcopal Church, and at her sons´ schools, Benedictine Military School,
Savannah Country Day School, and Calvary Baptist Day School; and
WHEREAS,
she began a professional career in 1987 by earning a master´s degree from
Armstrong State College and worked as a learning disabilities teacher at Mercer
Middle School and Largo Tibet Elementary School until her retirement in 2000;
and
WHEREAS,
she married long-time family friend Larry Stuber in 1997; and
WHEREAS,
during the past three years, she enjoyed entertaining her two grandchildren, and
one of her favorite pastimes was collecting stray golf balls hit into her front
yard by many of Savannah´s finest golfers.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body hereby recognize the life of Mrs. Joy Shea Haas Stuber and extend to
her family and friends their most sincere
condolences.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Mrs. Joy Shea Haas Stuber.
