A
RESOLUTION
Commending
the Brookwood School football team, Class AA State Champions, and Head Coach
Shane Boggs; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
under the excellent guidance of Coach Shane Boggs, the Brookwood Warriors ended
their perfect 13-0 season with a decisive victory over the Windsor Knights to
earn the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA) Class AA Championship
title; and
WHEREAS,
Brookwood dominated the Windsor Knights with a final score of 41-0, which began
on the opening kickoff with Rodger Walker taking the football 80 yards for a
touchdown; and
WHEREAS,
the domination continued with quarterback Scott Cheney throwing for 386 yards
and three touchdowns, to Rodger Walker, Chase Harvard, and Tom Shaw, while the
defense limited the Knights to only 129 yards; and
WHEREAS,
this is the first state football championship for Brookwood School in 20 years
and the Thomasville community and the State of Georgia take great pride in the
outstanding accomplishments of these fine young champions.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in commending the members of the Brookwood School football team
and their Head Coach Shane Boggs for a magnificent performance during this
memorable season.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Brookwood
School football team.
